Summary[edit]

Description

NSF was a major presence at the AAAS Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with a booth that showcased hands-on science and engineering exhibits related to biochemistry, the science of hockey, ocean acidification, catalysis, and solar power. Once the booth was set up, it attracted sizeable crowds, especially during the free Family Science Days, as visitors tried out the best interactive games from this year's International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge--the contest is co-sponsored by NSF and the journal Science--and tried out activities designed to engage audiences in learning about solar power and more. The annual meeting took place Feb. 16-20, 2012.
