Description

Arthur Caplan, founding head of the Division of Bioethics at the New York University Langone Medical Center, received the 2014 Public Service Award for an individual. The award recognizes Caplan “for his outstanding leadership, extraordinary commitment, and exceptional communication initiatives to raise public awareness and understanding of the ethical and social dimensions of science and engineering innovations.” Board member Ruth David, chairman of the ad hoc Committee on Honorary Awards, presented the award.
