beijing zoo lies west of Xizhimen and is the western part of the Beijing, China. It is one of the largset zoos in mainland china.

The zoo was a manor in the Ming Dynasty, but became the Empery Agriculture Examination Fieldin in the Qing Dynasty 1907. With the founding of the People's Republic, it was given an official designation as a zoo.
