Deutsch: ASIMO ist ein von Honda entwickelter, humanoider Roboter. Er ist der erste Roboter, der sich auf zwei Beinen (bipedal) fortbewegen kann und dabei eine Bewegung ausführt, die dem menschlichen Gang entspricht. ASIMO ist ein Akronym für Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility. Ebenso ist es ein Backronym für Isaac Asimov.

English: ASIMO is a bipedal humanoid models created by Honda. ASIMO is considered the 4th man-like humanoid robot that can walk on two feet in a manner resembling human locomotion. Officially, the name is an acronym for "Advanced Step in Innovative MObility". Contrary to popular belief, Honda's official statements indicate that the robot's name is not an homage to science fiction writer Isaac Asimov.
