English: Akdamar Island (Աղթամար in Armenian; Akdamar in Turkish) Island on lake Van, Western Armenia (in present day Turkey), with the Xth century Church of the Holy Cross (Սուրբ խաչ — Sourb Khach)
Türkçe: Akdamar Adası (Aghtamar, Ahktamar ismleri ilede bilinir), Türkiye'nin Van ve Bitlis şehirleri arasında bulunan Van Gölü'nün içinde yer alan en büyük adadır. Van'ın Gevaş ilçesi sınırları içerisinde yer anan adada Ermeniler´den kalma bir de kilise bulunur. Yüzölçümü 700 metrekare olan adanın toplam kıyı uzunluğu 3 kilometreyi bulmaktadır. Deniz seviyesinden 1912 metre yüksekte bulunan adanın batı uçlarında yüksekliği 8 metreye ulaşan dik kayalıklar vardır.
Français : Aghtamar (ou Akdamar, en arménien Աղթամար) est une île de Turquie orientale sur la côte est du lac de Van, dans l'ancien Vaspourakan. Sur cette île se situent les ruines du monastère Sainte-Croix.
