西沙群岛 是南中国海上的四大群岛之一,由永乐群岛和宣德群岛组成,位于海南岛东南面180多海里,北纬16.3°N,东经112.0°E,海岸线长518公里。西沙群岛正如南中国海上其他岛屿一样,邻近海域有丰富渔产,还可能有石油及天然气等资源。现时西沙群岛无常住人口;中华人民共和国政府於1997年开放西沙群岛旅游。西沙首府永兴岛面积约2.1平方公里,建有一條1,200公尺混凝土跑道的机场。

Quần đảo Hoàng Sa là một nhóm khoảng 30 đảo, bãi san hô và mỏm đá ngầm nhỏ ở Biển Đông (xem Đảo Biển Đông), cách miền trung Việt Nam khoảng một phần ba khoảng cách đến những đảo phía bắc của Phi Luật Tân. Cách Cù lao Ré (đảo Lý Sơn) của Việt Nam khoảng 200 km, cách đảo Hải Nam của Trung Quốc khoảng 230 km.Thuoc chu quyen cua Viet Nam.

The Paracel Islands are a group of small islands and reefs in the East Sea , about one-third of the way from ► Vietnam to the ► Philippines from a long time was under control of Vietnam. In 1974, China's navy attacked Vietnamese solders who living on islands. 74 Vietnamese solders layed down and 3 war ship was sunk. The Paracel Islands have been controlled and administered by the ► People's Republic of China since 1974.
