English: St Mary's was originally founded c.1155–9 as a daughter priory of the Abbey of Fontevraud, near Saumur, France. The priory fell into dereliction following its dissolution by the edict of Henry VIII in 1539. A new church was built in the 19th century. On 8 October 1877, the new church was consecrated. The remains of the priory are classified as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and the new church is Grade II listed.
