English: HM Abdül Hamid II (Ottoman Turkish: عبد الحميد ثانی unicode:`Abdü’l-Ḥamīd-i sânî, Turkish:İkinci Abdülhamit) (September 21, 1842 – February 10, 1918) was the 34th sultan of the Ottoman Empire. He ruled from August 31, 1876 until he was deposed on April 27, 1909. He was known as the Ulu Hakan (Divine Khan) by his supporters and as Le Sultan Rouge (Red Sultan) by the opposition (the Young Turks and their foreign supporters).
