English: Images of Alexander buses with ALX400 bodywork for use on double-decker chassis. It was introduced by Dennis in 1997, and shared the signature front curvatures of the ALX200 midibus and ALX300 single-decker bodies (but not the ALX100 minibus), while the rear and sides remained flat and boxy with a high rear window like the R-type design it replaced. It became part of the Transbus product line between Jan 2001 - May 2004, before continuing as an Alexander Dennis model until being phased out in 2006.
