November 1917 in Hampstead, London) ist ein englischer Biophysiker und Physiologe, der 1963 gemeinsam mit John Carew Eccles und Alan Lloyd Hodgkin für die „Entdeckungen über den Ionen-Mechanismus, der sich bei der Erregung und Hemmung in den peripheren und zentralen Bereichen der Nervenzellenmembran abspielt“ mit dem Nobelpreis für Physiologie oder Medizin geehrt wurde.
English: Sir Andrew Fielding Huxley, OM, FRS (born 22 November 1917, Hampstead, London) is an English physiologist and biophysicist, who won the 1963 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his experimental and mathematical work with Sir Alan Lloyd Hodgkin on the basis of nerve action potentials, the electrical impulses that enable the activity of an organism to be coordinated by a central nervous system.
