English: The "Angels of Bataan" were the US Navy and US Army nurses who served in Manila, on Bataan, and on Corregidor at the outset of WWII. Some escaped, but 88 nurses were captured and imprisoned at Santo Tomas and Los Banos for the remainder of the war, during which they continued to care for civilian internees. All were rescued in February of 1945.
