English: King Rama IV had the idea of moving one of the Khmer temples to Thailand as he thought, the populace would be interested in seeing something unusual. However, having inspected various sites his officials informed him that they were far too large to move.

Accordingly he ordered that a miniature replica be constructed to the north of the Mondop. The construction was only finished in the Fifth Reign.
