- This is the second version of Anton von Werner's famous painting: Die Kaiserproklamtion im Spiegelsaal zu Versailles painted in 1882 as a fresco for the Ruhmeshalle Berlin. It was destroyed in World War II. The first version of 1877, was hanging in the Berliner Stadtschloss and was also destroyed. Commonly known is only the third version of 1885, a birthday present for Otto von Bismarck with remarkable changes (a wish by its commissioner, Emperor Wilhelm I., Deutscher Kaiser)
