Indian Army, (IA);(Devanāgarī: भारतीय थलसेना, Bharatiya Thalsena) is the largest branch of the armed forces of India and has the responsibility for land-based military operations.

Army of India, term is used for a combined army, with both the Indian Army and the British Army in India between 1903 and 1947.
