English: Barnsley & District Electric Traction Company bus 5 (reg. HE 12), is the oldest surviving full-sized British single decker bus. It's a 1913 Leyland S3.30.T (chassis No. S253/1020) with ash framed and timber panelled 27-seat S/D "Combination Car" bodywork by Brush. It has a Leyland S3.30hp 4 cylinder petrol engine with Leyland 4 speed manual gearbox. It was one of an trial fleet of 20 buses bought by the tramway, which led to the complete replacement of the tram network by buses. When withdrawn it became a static caravan, eventually being built into a house. It was then bought for preservation, extracted from the building, and restored between 2002 and 2006.
