العربية: كانت مكتبة الإسكندرية الملَكية أكبر مكتبات عصرها، ويعتقد أنّ تأسيسها كان بأمر بطليموس الثاني، في أوائل القرن الثالث قبل الميلاد، وأنّ عدد الكتب التي احتوتها قد بلغ الـ 700,000 مجلّد. في سنة 2002 و بدعم من منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والتعليم والثقافة، اليونسكو، تم تدشين مكتبة الإسكندرية الجديدة وتقع كلا المكتبتين في مدينة الإسكندرية بمصر.
Ελληνικά: Με τον όρο Νέα Βιβλιοθήκη της Αλεξάνδρειας, ή bibliotheca alexandrina εννοείται η προσπάθεια αναβίωσης της αρχαίας Βιβλιοθήκης στην Αλεξάνδρεια της Αιγύπτου υπό την αιγίδα της UNESCO και της αιγυπτιακής κυβέρνησης.
English: The Library of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt, was once the largest library in the world. It is generally thought to have been founded at the beginning of the 3rd century BC, during the reign of Ptolemy II of Egypt. It has been reasonably established that the old library or parts of the collection were destroyed by fire on a number of occasions. The modern building was inaugurated in 2003 near the site of the old Library.

Deutsch: Die Bibliothek von Alexandria ist eine Bibliothek und ein kulturelles Zentrum, das an der Mittelmeerküste in der ägyptischen Stadt Alexandria liegt. Der Bau begann 1995 und kostete rund 220 Millionen Dollar. Die Eröffnung fand am 16. Oktober 2002 statt.
