Birger, in Swedish Birger Magnusson (the elder) and Birger jarl, died in 1266. He was Duke of Sweden and de facto prince consort of the last Swedish princess of the Erican Dynasty. They were the parents of two Swedish kings. Jarl is a title (Earl in an older English form) not a personal name.
