English: The County of Tyrol, Princely County of the Holy Roman Empire from 1504, was a State of the Holy Roman Empire, from 1814 a province of the Austrian Empire and from 1867 a crown land (Kronland) of Austria-Hungary. Today its territory is divided between the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, a small part of the Italian region of Veneto (Cortina d'Ampezzo and other villages) and the Austrian state of Tyrol.
Deutsch: Das Land Tirol war zunächst bis 1504 ein Reichsfüstentum des Heiligen Römischen Reiches, es wurde auf Bestreben der Habsburger zu einem eigenständigen Staat, ab 1814 eine Provinz des Österreichischen Kaiserreiches und ab 1867 ein Kronland der Österreich-Ungarischen Monarchie. Heute ist die Region geteilt in den zu Italien gehörenden Teil - Südtirol (Trentino-Alto Adige) sowie das zur Republik Österreich gehörende Bundesland Tirol.
