Carl August, Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach (3 September 1757 - 14 June 1828) was a duke of en:Saxe-Weimar and of en:Saxe-Eisenach (personal union) from 1758, duke of en:Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach from its creation in 1809, and grand-duke from 1815 until his death. With his wife Luise Auguste of Hesse-Darmstadt, daughter of Ludwig IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt he had seven children, among them Carl Friedrich, by whom he was succeeded, and Bernhard, a distinguished soldier. With three mistresses he had five children more.
