English: The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a United States federal law that outlawed major forms of race and sex discrimination in the United States, including racial segregation and unequal application of voting requirements for blacks. It was introduced to the 88th United States Congress as H.R. 7152 in June 1963 and signed into law by Lyndon B. Johnson on as Pub.L. 88-352, 78 Stat. 241.
