English: The Colosseum or Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering.

Latina: Amphitheatrum Flavium vel Colosseum quod vocatur summum Romae antiquae monumentum est. Constructum est autem inde ab anno p.Chr.n. 72. Domitiano imperatore aedificatio anno 86. finita est. Romani amphitheatro magno usi sunt ad magnificos ludos gladiatorios spectandos.
