The Dender is a 65 km long river in Belgium. The Dender streams in the provinces Hainaut, East Flanders and Flemish Brabant. The river basin of the Dender that streams in the province East-Flanders is called the “Denderstreek”. The Dutch word streek means region. So Denderstreek means the Dender Region.
