English: EAV, the acronym for "Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung", which might be translated as "First Public [or: General] Uncertainty [or: Un-Insurance]", is an Austrian pop group founded in 1977. At that time, same acronym stood for Austrian "Erste Allgemeine Versicherung", to be translated as "First Public Insurance", an insurance company which later changed its acronym and name to just "Erste Allgemeine (EA)".

Their lyrics (almost exclusively in German) are renowned to be funny, sarcastic, and serious, containing hints of social criticism and statements against political extremism, especially on the right. The band initially faced some legal difficulty, due to both the allusion of its name to the insurance company as to their lyric's political statements. At the beginning, their official name was "1st allgemeine Verunsicherung". They are still performing with good success.
