English: Elsa Brändström (*March 26, 1888 – † March 4, 1948) was a Swedish nurse and an organizer/fund raiser of some welfare organisations. Because of her commitment to POWs, she became famous as a “patron saint” for soldiers. In Germany, many streets, schools and institutions are named after her.
Deutsch: Elsa Brändström (* 26. März 1888 in Sankt Petersburg; † 4. März 1948 in Boston, USA) war eine schwedische Philanthropin, bekannt als Engel von Sibirien in den russischen Gefangenenlagern des Ersten Weltkrieges.
