Fritz Sauckel (1894-1946) was responsible for kidnapping large numbers of people from throughout Europe and forcing them into slave labor in Germany during the Second World War. Following a trial by the International War Crimes Tribunal, Sauckel was found guilty of crimes against humanity, and sentenced to death by hanging. In October 1946 he was executed for his crimes.
