English: Fuzhou dialect , meaning the language spoken in everyday life. In Singapore and Malaysia, the language is known as Hokchiu, which is the Min Dong pronunciation of Fuzhou.
中文: 福州話平話字:Hók-ciŭ-uâ)屬於漢語閩語分支,是閩東次方言的代表,也是福州民系所使用的母语。此外,福州疍民也以福州话为母语。在漢語各大語系中佔有重要的地位。福州當地人把這門語言稱作平话(平話字:Bàng-uâ),意思是“日常生活中所使用的語言”。
Bân-lâm-gú: Hok-chiu-oē ( BUC: Hók-ciŭ-uâ) sī Bân-tang-oē ê tāi-piáu hong-giân, thong-hêng tī Tiong-kok Hok-kiàn-séng Hok-chiu-chhī (pau-koat Tâi-oân ê Má-chó·-tó) hām Lêng-tek-chhī ê se-lâm-pō·.
福州話(BUC:Hók-ciŭ-uâ)是閩東話的代表方言,通行佇中國福建省福州市(包括臺灣的媽祖島)和寧德市的西南部。
