- Gaston de Foix, Duc de Nemours (December 10, 1489 - April 11, 1512) was a French military commander noted mostly for his brilliant six-month campaign from 1511 to 1512 during the War of the League of Cambrai, before he was killed near Ravenna. Son of Jean de Foix, Comte d'Estampes, and Marie d'Orleans, sister of Louis XII of France. His funerary monument now in Milan is considered a masterpiece of the Reanaissance Italian sculpture.
