English: The Gate of Heavenly Peace in Beijing was the southern gate of the Imperial City in Beijing. To its south is the Tiananmen Square, to its north are the imperial ancestral and state temples. Located north of the Tiananmen Gate are the Upright Gate and the Meridian Gate. The Meridian Gate is the main (southern) gate to the Forbidden City.
