Greater Iran (in Persian: ایران بزرگ Irān-e Bozorg, or ایرانزمین Irān-zamīn; the Encyclopedia Iranica uses the term Iranian Cultural Continent) refers to the regions that have significant Iranian cultural influence. It roughly corresponds to the territory surrounding the Iranian plateau, stretching from the Caucasus to the Indus River, and conform to the historical understanding of the full territory of "Iran."
