Deutsch: Der Harz ist das nördlichste Mittelgebirge in Deutschland und das höchste Gebirge Norddeutschlands. Anteil am Harz haben die Länder Niedersachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt und Thüringen. Der Brocken, mit 1.141,1 m ü. NN höchster Berg des Harzes, gilt seit dem späten Mittelalter als der berühmteste „Hexentreffpunkt“ in Europa, den auch Goethe in seinem Faust beschreibt.

English: The Harz is a mountain range in northern Germany. The northernmost mountain chain of Germany, it straddles the border between the states of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The name Harz derives from a Middle High German word meaning "forest".

Français : Le Harz est un massif montagneux du Nord de l’Allemagne. Il est situé au Sud-Est de la Basse-Saxe, à l’Ouest de la Saxe-Anhalt et au Nord-Ouest de la Thuringe.
