Hermann Staudinger (March 23, 1881 – September 8, 1965) was a German chemist who demonstrated the existence of en:macromolecules which he characterized as en:polymers. For this work he received the 1953 en:Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He is also known for his discovery of en:ketenes and of the en:Staudinger reaction.
