Images in this category need to have their captions removed. Where captions are desired they should be added with as thumbnails.

Captions should be removed as losslessly as possible. Cropping is generally best and most efficient when the caption is located at the top or bottom of a picture, but in some cases cloning is necessary to maintain parts of the image. This should still not be done unless the text is within the image itself and not located on a border or along an edge.

If cropping a JPEG, consider using a lossless cropping tool such as jpegtran. [1]
