English: The Laira was an iron barque of 492 tons, built at Sunderland in 1870 by Pile and owned by Richard Hill of Cattedown, Plymouth. She had a length of 156.1 ft (47.6 m) and carrying royals over single topgallant sails and double topsails. The Laira sold later to Stone Brothers of Auckland, NZ. in 1898 she sunk in the warf of Dunedin in result of a ship accident and was re-floated and repaired. She became in 1908 or 1909 the new name Connie Craig but reverted to Laira before 1910. She sold at those dates. Would appear to have become a hulk at Melbourne, late in her life (1910?). Broken up there in 1958.
