English: Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev (Russian: Леони́д Ильи́ч Бре́жнев) (December 19 [O.S. December 6] 1906 – November 10, 1982) was the effective ruler of the Soviet Union from 1964 to 1982, though at first in partnership with others. He was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1964 to 1982, and was twice Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet (head of state), from 1960 to 1964 and from 1977 to 1982.

Каменское, сейчас Днепродзержинск, Днепропетровская область — 10 ноября 1982, Москва) — фактический руководитель Советского Союза с 1964 по 1982 годы. Первый Секретарь ЦК КПСС с 1964 (с 1966 Генеральный Секретарь) и Председатель Президиума Верховного Совета СССР с 1960 по 1964 и с 1977 по 1982.
