English: Manoel (Manuel) José de Araújo Porto-alegre (Rio Pardo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil; November 2, 1806 – Lisboa, Portugal; December 29, 1879), baron of Santo Ângelo, was a Brazilian poet and playwright, forerunner of Brazilian romanticism, as well as a painter, architect, urban planner, journalist, cartoonist, art critic and historian, faculty professor, and diplomat.
