In plant systematics, monocots is the name of a clade in the APG II (2003) system. This clade "monocots" consists of
- one family Petrosaviaceae
- six orders Acorales, Alismatales, Asparagales, Dioscoreales, Liliales, Pandanales
- one further clade, commelinids
(The clade "monocots" contains the same plants as class Liliopsida in the Cronquist and Takhtajan systems; subclass Liliidae in the Dahlgren system or Thorne system (1992), the Monocotyledones of the Wettstein system, etc, but each of these has its own internal taxonomy.)
