العربية: موروس
English: "Moor" historically designated a number of associated ethnic groups of Berber and Arab descent from Northern Africa.
- The Moors were the Islamic people of Al-Andalus on the Iberian Peninsula in the period between 711 CE and 1492 CE., and subsequently familiar figures in European art, folklore, and heraldry.
- Beside the term's usage in historical contexts, Moor is used to designate the present day Moors ethnic group, speaking the Hassaniya language, mainly inhabiting Western Sahara, Mauritania, and parts of neighbouring countries in the western Maghreb.
