- The monumental concrete complex was designed in the modernist style by architect Louis Kahn, beginning in 1961.
- It is one of the largest legislative complexes in the world, and was completed in 1982. The Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1987.
