English: The Obelisk of Thutmose III was brought in from Egypt by Emperor Theodosius I in 390 to addorn the Hippodrome of Constantinople. Carved from pink granite, it originally stood at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor during the reign of Tuthmosis III in about 1490 BCE.
