Ooty Lake is a man made reservoir built during 1823-1825 in Nilgiris district. The lake covers almost 4 sq km and is 2.5 km in length. Boating is the major attraction at the lake. The boat rise allows visitors to enjoy the spell-binding environs at a laid-back pace. The lake is bounded by grooves of eucalyptus trees which augment the scenic beauty of the area.
