English: The Pantanal, is an extensive tropical wetlands — and the world's largest wetland of any kind.
- It lies mostly within the southern Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul but extends into Mato Grosso, as well as into portions of Bolivia and Paraguay, sprawling over an area estimated up to 195,000 square kilometres (75,000 sq mi) in size.
- The Pantanal is a Neotropic ecoregion in the Flooded grasslands and savannas Biome in the La Plata River basin.
- The biodiversity and significance makes the Pantanal a Ramsar Convention protected wetlands and a World Heritage Site.
