English: Scaffolding is temporary construction staging, used to gain access to parts of a building. Compare to Centring, which supports part of a structure such as an arch or dome that is only self-supporting once completed. Also Shoring that is used to support a building that is temporarily weakened.
Scaffolding is always in singular, not in plural. Also called falsework, temporary wooden structures which are used during construction of buildings or structures.
