The Schwarzwaldhaus is the traditional farmhouse of the Schwarzwald mountains region (en:Black Forest, es:Selva Negra, fr:Forêt Noir, it:Foresta Nera) in southwestern Germany. The vertical structure is similar to that of the Jura type and some Mediterranean types of farmhouses. The diffrences are the high and protruding roof and the material: everything besides foundation, hearth, stove and chimney is made of wood.
