English: The iron barque Scottish Hero was built 1876 by W. Doxford and Sons, Sunderland for McIlwraith MacEacharn & Co, London. Dimensions: 196.6 × 33 × 19.1 ft (59.9 × 10.1 × 5.8 m) and tonnage 911 GRT, 896 NRT and 795 tons under deck. She was involved from 1876-1886 in the emigrant trade from the U.K. to Queensland. 1893 sold to A.H. Arnold, Brake, Germany, and was renamed Saturnus. 1905 sold to Norway and 19814 sold to Sweden. 1915 foundered in the North Atlantic on voyage from Miramichi with a cargo of timber for Cork. The crew was picked up by the British steamer Colorado.
