English: Sebastian Virdung (born c. 1465) was a German composer and theorist on musical instruments. He is known for a treatise he wrote, Musica getuscht und auszgezogen (Basel, 1511), which has many illustrations of musical instruments, and is the oldest printed source on this subject.
