English: The sliding rocks, also referred to as sailing stones or moving rocks, are a geological phenomenon found in Racetrack Playa, Death Valley, as well as in several other playas in the region and in other parts of the world. The stones are assumed to slowly move across the surface of the playa, inferred from the long tracks behind them, without human or animal intervention.
Français : Les pierres mouvantes sont un phénomène géologique que l'on peut observer à Racetrack Playa, dans la vallée de la mort, ainsi que dans plusieurs autres lacs salés alentour et dans d'autres parties du globe. D'après le sillon qu'elles laissent derrière elles, il semble que ces pierres se meuvent doucement à la surface du lac salé sans aucune aide ni humaine ni animale.
