Actually, it is not a dragon (as in St.George's battle), but the Devil himself (Satan, Lucifer) — painted as fallen angel with membrane wings, or with snake features, or as common devil with horns, tail and hoves. In «Book of Revelation» is written that the Satan in that battle has a form of dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns.
