The Sundarbans National Park (Bengali: সুন্দরবন জাতীয় উদ্যান Shundorbôn Jatio Uddan) is a National Park, Tiger Reserve and UNESCO world heritage site located in the Sundarbans, within the Ganges delta, and is part of the territory of the state of West Bengal (India). This region is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves of the Bengal tiger. The name Sundarban can be literally translated as "beautiful jungle" or "beautiful forest" in the Bengali language (Sundar, "beautiful" and ban, "forest" or "jungle").
