English: Theophanes the Cretan (Theophanes Strelitzas; Theophanes Bathas) (*c. 1527 - † 1559). Greek monk and painter. He worked mainly on Mount Athos, particularly at the monasteries of Lavra (c. 1535–1540) and Stavronikita (1545–1546), and also at Karyes, the administrative centre of Athos.

После этого начался пик его карьеры, продолжавшийся до 1548 года. После Метеор он отправился на Святую Гору Афон и расписывал там соборы монастырей Великой Лавры и Крестоникитинский монастырь.
