English: Tree wells, or "Tree pits", are below-grade planters with only side walls.
  • Usually regarded for trees planted in paved or narrow areas, such as street trees.
  • The underground soil area for tree roots (often with root barriers to direct roots downwards), and the surface treatment for pedestrian safety, and irrigation.
